Edging
How enjoyable can edging be? The more practice the better it gets.
Overview of Edging from my experience
Why I Started Edging
About 7 or 8 years ago my partner who I had just started dating asked me if I wanted to try edging. That was really the first time I ever heard the term edging.
After looking up the term, I realized I had already had a little personal experience with edging just trying to prolong the pleasure while masturbating.
It had never occurred to me that edging was a known practice, so I decided to learn a little more about it.
What I found was a bunch of medical web sites and male and female “wellness” sites discussing the edging process of bringing yourself close to orgasm then letting the pleasure dissipate. Then repeating…Bla Bla…
That I could have figured out on my own…
But what I have always wanted to know was how to maintain that point where the orgasm starts, the part you experience in the beginning, that full body tingle, but not let the pleasure go beyond that. I wanted to figure out a way to maintain that pleasure at a steady level without ejaculating.
That is what I wanted!
I had heard about tantric methods that allow you to prolong orgasms, so I know it could be done…But I didn’t have the time or desire to learn that process.
I had also read about ways to have an orgasm and not ejaculate, and how that method can sometime provide a man with a shorter refraction period, but I was never too successful using that technique nor did it prolong the orgasm.
Those methods always discussed flexing your perennial muscle like you are holding your urine.
It always made sense to me that if you are medically able to have an orgasm and not ejaculate then you must be able to maintain that low level orgasm without ejaculating, if it has anything to do with muscle control.
So I decided to try and train myself how to prolong my orgasms and I am here to tell you that it can be accomplished. I am now trying to figure out how many stages I am able to experience and keep in control.

Things to know before you start.
First, I can not emphasize how important I think VR was in developing this control. Please see my VR Edging Page
Second, the biggest challenge is self control. You need to be able to say, “No” to yourself in the moment, no matter how badly you want to feel that ejaculation feeling. I have managed to prolong the orgasm feeling for so long that I will literally ejaculate streams of pre ejaculate fluid without actually ejaculating, which trust me is an incredibly good feeling in itself.
Third, this took me multiple years to master. Not sure how long it will take you, but keep practicing and it will eventually pay off.
Fourth, the practicing is the fun.

My Personal Technique
First, I know many men will not want to listen to another man explain how he edges…I get it…Just get over, it and keep reading…You will thank me later. I will try and keep it as vanilla as possible.
I will start off by finding a VR web site that has videos that get me sexually excited. I will provide recommendations later, since I have tried almost all of them.
I typically sit on my couch or against my headboard, on my knees, with my legs slightly spread. I find that position will match best with the different positions you will experience in VR. You will be able to manipulate your body to feel like it is matching most experiences. You obviously will figure out what works for you based on the VR experiences you prefer.
I will then start masturbating in the typical male fashion, but just using two fingers and my thumb for the most part. I use my thumb and index and middle fingers. I find that using my entire hand does not give me as much control over stopping, as the two finger method. I also find that when I am in an orgasm VR trance, (which I will talk about later), when you use your full hand you can tell it’s your hand, but when you just use two fingers and a thumb you still get the pleasure and orgasm sensation but it basically feels like someone else is stimulating you.
I will then take my other hand and hold my penis in-between two fingers at the base like a V. That allows me to angle my penis to match the VR experience without touching it. You will see what I mean.
Then I do my best to let the orgasm sensation come on it’s own. I find that when I rush or force myself to reach an orgasm state, for some reason that makes it more challenging to control when edging.
Once I feel that I am on the path to reach orgasm, it is very important to stay extremely focused. I allow the orgasm to start, but stop or use the “move down” method immediately if I feel the pleasure going beyond the first stage. I concentrate at keeping it at that lower level.
I believe orgasms have different stages and as it progresses, the pleasurable feeling gets more intense. The trick is to allow myself that first or second stage, but AS SOON as I realize it is going beyond that, I try the move down method, or if I feel the need, I stop and drop everything. Sometime I even need to rip the headset off my head to not see the visual stimulation.
That’s the trick, learning when to stop and denying yourself that strong desire to feel the more intense feeling. Once you master that ability to figure out your point of no return (PONR), then you just focus on keeping it there. Over time you will extend that time frame until you have full control over your orgasm.
When I reach the PONR I stop masturbating all together. Then depending on how much control I feel I have at the time, I may wait until my erection is completely gone before I start up again. I will even stop all together and start at a later point or day. When I edge without orgasm for a day or two and then save it for the bedroom, it is more than worth it!
Just remember, even though you want to keep going to feel the ejaculation, if you stop before it goes beyond the point of no return, you will always be able complete your orgasm next round. That is the joy of edging! Sometimes it is hard to remember that in the moment.
I have been practicing for many years and still loose my concentration and ejaculate before I intended to. So do not get discouraged. It takes a long time to develop the self awareness and also have the will power to stop. It is both mind and body discipline. But if you keep practicing the rewards are incredible.
I am now able to maintain a full body tingly orgasm feeling almost as long as I can mentally take it. I actually get exhausted from too much orgasm pleasure.
Then one of my favorite things to do is take all that desire and release it with my partner who never complains.

Moving down the shaft
One method of maintaining the orgasm sensation and not allowing it to progress to the point of no return is to move your hand further down the shaft. When I feel like the sensation is going to start to progress too far, I find that the further I move my fingers away from the tip, the better I can maintain control. Sometimes when I am in an orgasm state and have used this move technique, my fingers will be all the way at the base of my penis and I am still maintaining a low level orgasm.

The Edging VR Trance
The Edging VR Trance is when you manage to maintain the orgasm feeling for a long period of time while watching VR and enter into a sexual trance that is absolutely euphoric.

The Excedrin Advil Myth
Sometime I can’t stop myself from getting to the PONR too fast…Maybe I am super excited for some reason, or I have been edging for a day or two and I just seem to have no control…When that happens, I have always wondered, since a lot of orgasm and ejaculation control is muscle control, would taking Advil which is a muscle relaxer help? So I decided to try it before edging…
I did not find it had any effect at first, but now I am not sure…Maybe it is the placebo effect, I do not know, but when I take 2 Advil and 2 Excedrin at the same time, it “seems” to help me stop from reaching the PONR too fast. I emphasize the word help…It does not prevent the PONR, it just seems to allow me to hold that edge when I was just rushing past it with no control…Again, I am not a Dr, it is just what I have experienced…
